City of Reno/Flirtey Program Overview

Trò chơi rất caoThe City of Reno and Flirtey are partnering to test the use of drones to deliver Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to cardiac arrest patients in Washoe County, Carson City, and the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. In doing so, the data collected throughout the Integration Pilot Program will be used to fast-track medical and commercial drone delivery and influence the safe integration of Unmanned Aerial Systems into the National Airspace.

Cardiac arrest is the leading cause of natural death in America, and for every minute that a cardiac arrest patient waits to receive defibrillation, their odds of survival decrease by about 10 percent per minute. Deploying AEDs via drones can increase the cardiac arrest survival rate from just 10 percent today, to approximately 47 percent.

The Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority () is the exclusive ground emergency medical services provider for . When fully implemented, this program will integrate with the REMSA dispatch system and will provide the caller the opportunity to have an AED dispatched by drone at the same time Emergency Medical Services (EMS) First Responders are deployed. With successful implementation, this program has the potential to provide access to life saving AED services before first responders are able to arrive and potentially increase the survival rate of cardiac arrest patients in Washoe County. Numerous team members will be involved in the implementation of this program including:
